Temple Under the Sea (Bali)

The existence of the building resembles a temple, but the actual temple garden on the sea floor Pemuteran Bay area, Buleleng, North Bali, it was not a mystery.

Parks underwater temple or "underwater temple garden" which had horrendous Pemuteran world, is a third area of additional dives in the area Tangkad Jaran, Pemuteran, which has also been known as one tourist attraction in Bali.

"That we wake up since 2005 in post-crisis following the second Bali bombing, with funding from AusAid," said Chris Brown, Coordinator Garderner Pemuteran Reef, to the author after accompanying dive in the area.

Object dives that had dihebohkan as mysterious temple, including inviting the attention of the Director General of Marketing Depbudpar Nirwanda Sapta, located at a depth of 15-28 meters in the area of sea floor area of 2,500 square meters.

In the garden area of the sea conditions are arranged beautifully, with the temple briefly or Balinese gate model measuring four feet high and ten large-size stone statues.

According to Chris Brown, the structure of the temple briefly drowned in 2005 after Pemuteran ASEANTA awarded as a tourist area of environmental conservation.

In 2006, a number of stone statues were drowned as a complement to the underwater temple garden. "Coral reefs are capable of thriving in the media of stone concrete and rock, as you can see," he said.
According to Chris Brown who is also the owner of ReefSeen Dive Centre, Pemuteran Bay naturally has a number of dives. However, climate change and lack of fishing communities to maintain those resources, resulting in coral reefs in Pemuteran area were destroyed.

After the rehabilitation and conservation of coastal use system "biorock" successful, community and tourism industry players in Pemuteran build a new dive site as a complement to existing objects.

Besides enriching the tourist product, the addition of these objects are also used as a place to practice in an effort to improve skills and performance of groups of sea gardener (reef garderner), amounting to 20 people in Pemuteran.

The gardener of the sea, according to Chris Brown, in charge of maintaining the existence of structure "biorock" in Pemuteran. They are also assisted by staff from each business tour around Pemuteran.

Additional objects, he explained, a place that builds on the design dive Pemuteran community. Objects placed along the region Tangkad Jaran dives, especially in areas that suffered damage to coral reefs.

Development of new dives object began in 2005 which received funding support from AusAID for 23,035 Australian dollars or the time equivalent of about Rp155, 87 million.

The first named Canyon Wreck location, at a depth of 28 meters, in the form of shipwrecks bugis 30 meters. Site second into the 25-14 meter named Ships Graveyard (graveyard ship.)

At that location bugis sized ship sunk 24 meters and nine other traditional boats. Ships Graveyard At dive sites also have been working two biowrecks structure.

One structure in the form of a wreck madura measuring nine meters. The other is a metal structure stenlis measuring 12 times the three-meter-shaped boat.

Bio Wreck is located at a depth of 70-10 meters and if biorock use electricity for the formation of reefs, bio-Wreck has been utilizing solar power (solar panels). "We also will divert biorock from the electricity grid system to the solar panels,"? Chris Brown added.

Diversity Object

Pemuteran Bay is located on the north coast of Bali and is about 115 kilometers from Denpasar via Bedugul, while from Gilimanuk, the western tip of Bali, about 40 kilometers. Mileage from Denpasar via Jembrana about 30 miles farther than via Bedugul.

Gulf since 1999 designated as protected areas (Marine Protected Area / MPA), it has long been popular by the presence Pulaki, which also attract many tourists, especially those visiting the northern region of Bali.
For foreign tourists, Pemuteran biorock identical with, the iron structure of the electricity flowing and sunk to the seabed as FADs or where the growth of coral reefs.

If coral reefs thrive, fish also will be able to reproduce well, thus supporting one of the environmental conservation program, in addition to supporting tourism.
The structure of the first biorock drowned in October 2000 after the implementation of Konas in Bali on the cooperation of two coral reef expert Tom Wolf G and the late Gilbert with Gahawisri (Association of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia), Bali.

It then continues as a coastal community pemberdyaan program sponsored by AA Prana, Chris Brown and supported by local indigenous communities.
In the course of time, clear AA Prana, Pemuteran not just enough to make the empowerment of coastal communities through programs biorock. Pemuteran need to restore marine ecosystems are more intense.
The reason, tourists who holiday in Pemuteran not only among spiritualist with the main purpose of the program Pulaki and healing (healing) in a number of temples around it.
Academics, researchers and divers from the marine ecosystem snorkel classes, beginner to expert (advance), also flocked to the Gulf region Pemuteran.
Therefore, as a destination Pemuteran need enriched with additional tourism products. Whether at sea or on land.
Thus the presence of the tourism industry can provide more added value for the fishing communities, said Chris closed the conversation.

~NGABEN~

Ngaben is cremation in Bali, especially by people who are Hindus, where Hindus are the majority religion in the Thousand Islands this temple. In the Panca Yadnya, this ceremony is included in Pitra Yadnya, the ceremony devoted to the spirit lelulur. Ngaben ceremony at its core meaning is to restore the ancestral spirits (dead) to the place of origin. A man has Rauh said Bayu, Word, IDEP, and after death Bayu, Word, IDEP was restored to Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva.

Ngaben ceremony usually conducted by family relatives of the deceased, as a form of respect for a child against his parents. In all this ceremony usually spend 15 million to 20 million rupiah. The ceremony is usually performed by festive, no sobs, because in Bali there is a belief that we should not cry over one who has died because it could hamper the spirits travel to the place.

Day Ngaben implementation is determined by looking for a good day which is usually determined by Rauh. A few days before the ceremony held Ngaben families assisted by the public will make "Bade and Ox" a very stately made of wood, colored paper and other materials. "Bade and Ox" This is where the bodies which will be held Ngaben.

In the morning when the ceremony is held, the family and relatives and the community will gather to prepare the ceremony. At each junction or intersection so "Bade" is played 3 times. Arriving at the cemetery, Ngaben ceremony performed by placing the corpse in "The Cow" which has been prepared starting with other ceremonies and prayer mantra of Ida Rauh, and "Ox" burned to be Ash. Ash is then thrown into the sea or rivers are considered sacred.

After this ceremony, the family can still pray for ancestors of holy places and temples respectively. This is what causes the family ties in Bali is very strong, because they always remember and honor lelulur and also their parents. There is a belief that the spirits of ancestors who suffered the reincarnation will be back in the family circle again, so usually a grandchild is a reincarnation of his parents....

Bedugul, Bali

So you have come to Bali, Indonesia on your holiday and after a little time in the busy, touristy southern part of the island you’re ready for something different. Have you heard of Bedugul? Nestled in the mountains in the central part of Bali island, is much less crowded with package tourism and also boasts much cooler temperatures than the coastal areas. You can visit as part of a day trip from Kuta or Seminak, but if you’d like to stay longer, accommodation is also available to suit any budget.

The town of Bedugul is about 45 km straight north out of Denpasar, on the road to Singaraja. A one-way trip of roughly one hour in a taxi should cost no more than 300,000 rupiah, or if you’re feeling ambitious you can come up on a rented motorcycle.

In the area around the town you’ll find three fairly large, picturesque lakes: Bratan, Buyan and Tamblingan, and actually the entire area around these lakes is referred to as Bedugul Tanah. As soon as you arrive you will immediately notice that the air is cooler and feels cleaner too!

The first thing you’ll want to do is visit the Temple at Lake Bratan. You have probably already seen it on postcards-it’s a gorgeous, serene looking small temple surrounded by the lake. The Bali botanical Gardens are nearby in Candikuning, and are absolutely worthy of a visit, ranging over 160 ha. If you are a fan of waterfalls, Munduk is nearby as well.

When people think of Bali they normally think of rice terraces, and some of the most beautiful on the island are in Bedugul, at Jatiluwih. You certainly had better at least get out of your vehicle and breathe in some of the most spectacular scenery that Bali has to offer. Take an hour and do one of the hikes through the area, which was recently nominated to be a UNESCO world heritage site.

The area around Bedugul also has bird watching, and Hot Springs just to the south at Angseri. It is quite pleasant as you drive along to see cloves drying on the side of the road, as well as cacao plants, and coffee and vanilla.

Be sure to take at least a day to visit the mountainous area of Bali because not only is the terrain and weather are quite pleasurable change, in some ways it’s like taking a step back in time to see what Bali was like before it became known mostly as a tourist attraction. The mountainous lake area around Bedugul is perfect for this.

Bedugul Day Trip

The three large lakes up in the mountains in the central part of Bali, Indonesia represent an opportunity for visitors to get some fresh, cooler air. This is the Bedugul area, and it has some of the nicest scenery on the island, as well as an important, picturesque temple that tourists really should not miss on a trip to Bali, Indonesia.

Getting to Bedugul

Bedugul is easily reached on a day trip if you are staying, as most tourists do, in the south part of the island. Look to spend about 400,000 rupiah for a car and a driver for the day. You might be able to save a little money by renting a car and driving yourself, but not much money, and I have serious doubts as to whether the savings are worth it. Having a driver enables you to relax and enjoy the scenery, which is the whole point. I would recommend asking a Bluebird taxi driver how much he would charge off-meter for the day trip to Bedugul. He can pick you up from your hotel and go pretty much anywhere you’d like to explore. Do negotiate the price advance, though. (By the way, Bluebird taxis are the way to go anywhere in Bali-clean, with courteous drivers who will never give you a problem with the fair.)

In and around Bedugul

The Ulun Danu Temple at Lake Bratan (also spelled Beratan) is a special place in Bali, certainly one of the most famous and photographed temples on the island. If the water level in the lake is high from recent rains, the Temple appears to be floating! A close look at even this one temple will be worth the drive to Bedugul.

In addition to the Temple, make a stop at the fruit market at Candikuning. You’ll find a huge assortment of beautiful fruit, including a few that will be unfamiliar to you unless you spent much time in these latitudes. Treat yourself to a good sampling, including durian, an incredibly smelly fruit that you’ll probably either love or hate.

Take a little time to explore the Bali Botanical Gardens as well. You have an option to walk or drive through-I would suggest walking, especially if it is early or late in the day, as close-up views of the trees and flowers, most of which are indigenous to Bali, are well worth it.

All in all, a day trip to Bedugul will certainly be one of the highlights to your Balinese vacation.

agricultural Irrigation system in Bali

Bali. Subak, agricultural irrigation systems that exist only in Bali, was built in the arrangement of terraces, was in addition to religious social order to bring synergy to the people of Bali, also pamper the eyes of anyone who looked at him, like terbidik in November 2009, at Jatiluwih, Tabanan, now yellowed beautiful terraces terbidik and crispy before the harvest.

If we talk about the beauty of the island of Bali, of course, will appear a variety of opinions. Some people will talk about the beauty of beaches that stretches from west coast to the north and some may be talking about a fascinating local culture. Two opinions are in fact only a fraction of a variety of opinions. The emergence of these opinions is of course legitimate, because the beauty of it can be seen from various viewpoints. From these opinions may not be much to look at Subak as one of the most beautiful thing in Bali, because Subak basically just a traditional irrigation system. But make no mistake, this is different because Subak traditional irrigation systems in many other areas in the archipelago.

Subak was not just a system that take care of technical matters. More than that, Subak also serves as a social organization in the field of agriculture that touches the side of social and religious. A Subak led by an indigenous leader who called Kelian. Subak leader is voluntary, in other words, someone who became Kelian, will not receive any salary or compensation for his services. Subak also have a clear membership, and is usually divided into two groups, active and passive. Distribution of water from shared water sources also are based on contributions from its members. In addition, the most important requirement is the establishment of a Subak one or more temples Uluncarik or Bedugul. This temple serves as a place of worship to the Goddess as a manifestation of Sang Hyang Sri Widhi Wasa in terms of fertility and prosperity. Terms which is the evidence that Subak was taking care of the religious aspect of the farmers. Subak presence actually played a part in beautifying the face of the lovely and enchanting Bali. Countless beautiful terraces terracing-born of non-profit organization called Subak. Terraces, terracing in Tegalallang, Jatiluwih, Bebandem, and Busungbiu are some "natural child" Subak which are well known internationally.

But unfortunately, the development of a more modern era, it brings a tough challenge for Subak. Agricultural land is increasingly cramped due to development everywhere, modern irrigation system that turned out to be one of the factors of destruction of land and less interest the younger generation to become farmers are some of the many challenges that must be faced. Of course, Bali has prepared various plans to keep conserving Subak, because with the extinction of Subak, Bali will certainly lose one important asset, identity and beauty
